The Weather Report 007 (Legacy)

Welcome to The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
It seems for this month, the deep and moody is going to linger around a bit longer. You may expect a bit of patchiness to occur with bouts of darker or progressive tones.

The Weather Report 006 (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
Lately it seems things have been a bit hard and heavy but we're seeing a good break for this month.
This month I wanted to get a bit more deep and moody. Just good deep sounds to a quality listen.

The Weather Report 005 (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
Once in a while you need just a good heavy banger. Nothing some unbridled techno jammers can't fix either. In comes a smashing episode five with nothing but quality bangers to give you that techno turnover. This mix often reminesces the live-style mixing I've been doing; focusing on tag-team sets with a colleague that just feed energy between us and no matter where we start, always becomes a technorama in the end.

The Weather Report 004 (LIVE @ Drop Fest) (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
One of the great points in August every year is experiencing Drop Fest; a grass roots, free-to-the-public festival that is hosted in the streets of Flint, Michigan (literally). As one of the founding members and a primary developer of the festival, it's always an amazement to see the staggering number of people who come out for the day to jam with us and have a good time. So it only seemed fitting that this month's release be recorded live from there (especially given we weren't really equipt to stream it live). In this very special live set, I am accompanied by my dear friend and colleague Daniel James.
An exceptional DJ and Producer hailing from the area and bursting with talent. Together we put on a spectacular set that most definitely had to be archived for you wonderful people to listen to; whether its for the first time or for the several-th time over.

The Weather Report 003 (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
Been wanting to do something heavily focused on Dub-Techno with the inception of my new track. I
figured the best way to show it off was to make a mix around it. So here we are for episode three,
leading off with my own personal Ham on Dwarves followed by a quality selection of interconnecting
dub and minimal pieces to really create a moving mix.

The Weather Report 002 (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem. I wanted to mix things up a little bit.
I often find quality Progressive House pieces that just mix so well in Tech House-latent sets. To show off a good mutli-genre mix that keeps things fun and moving, I used that concept in developing a Tech-base that is then encompassed by differing styles such as deep and progressive. Of course, Had to throw in a little techno just to give some bump and bounce add a little nuance and dynamic.

The Weather Report 001 (Legacy)

The Weather Report (Electronic Music) Podcast by Jon Salem.
This first episode is a reprise of a festival mix that never happened.
I was playing Drop Fest, a small time festival in Flint, Michigan, and had this track line-up ready to go
for the festival with an early evening play time. There was a lack of communication on equipment specification for the opening artist and he didn't have the vinyl turntables needed to play. During the hectic point of trying to figure out what to do, I took it upon myself to take over his set time with impromptu-Tech House set using CDs so I didn't have to take the time to set up my laptop, which these tracks were only on. I subsequently told him to take my  spot to allow time to get vinyl tables secured for him.

Now, 2 years after that day, the mix that never was seemed to be the perfect spot to start this new series off right.
